EARL L. GEIS
Superintendent
In this 1959 Goldbug you will
find the events of this school year
portrayed in pictures and words.
They will become treasured mem-
ories of the year now passing. Your
memories, then are safe and ready
to be recountedg but your plans for
tomorrow are not. Your need is to
look ahead and make a future that
will be bright and honorable.

Iwant to take this opportunity to con-
gratulate the personnel of the Goldbug
Staff and their sponsors for the publication
of this very attractive edition, "The 1958-
59 Goldbug." Your many hours of hard
work are sincerely appreciated by all of us.
The many accomplishments by the stu-
dents of Alva Senior High School during
1958-59 are within the pages of this Edi-
tion. These, and the many lasting friend-
ships that were rnade during your high
school days will become more meaningful
as the years advance.

One of the finest achievements of the '58-'59
council year was the success of the Leadership Work-
shop. The establishment of weekly devotionals was
also received with a great deal of enthusiasm by the
students.
