The annual staff is proud to dedicate the 1954 Goldbug to Miss Edna Donley,
Alva High School's outstanding speech and mathematics instructor.
Miss Donley is well known for the awards and honors her speech students
have received. Her Junior and Senior Class plays are always skillfully directed
and enjoyed by all.
Miss Donley, as sponsor of the Student Council, is present at most of the
school's social affairs and spends many hours with the planning of various ac-
tivities for the enjoyment of the Alva High School students. '

Fifty-two boys are enrolled in vocational agriculture this year. The
new agriculture building, which is in its fourth year of use, is one of the
best in the state of Oklahoma. These boys are making full use of their
building by developing skills which include welding, carpentry, metals,
mechanics, and electricity. In the laboratory the boys study the testing
of soil, milk for butterfat, and seed for germination.
Farm training would not be complete without projects on the home
farms of the boys. All boys are engaged in the business of productive
farming.
The local F. F. A. organization is fully organized and has a full pro-
gram of work and a calendar of events. The livestock judging team won
first place at the County Fair, eighth place at the Tulsa State Fair, and
first place at Panhandle A. 8: M. College.
The F. F. A. chapter has 10 acres of farm land which is used for
wheat production and a test plot which is used to determine the produc-
tion of wheat, oats, and barley.
Boys who received the Junior Master Farmer Degree this year are
Dean Honer, Darrell Surface, Boyce Elmore, Monty Williams, Robert
Lohmann, and Charles Nieman.
