Contest activities included interpretation of humorous and dramatic literature, interpretation of poetry, public address, oration, extemporaneous speak- ing, radio speaking, one-act play, radio play, and debate. Approximately Z5 students did contest work, while a total of 63 students enrolled in speech. Those students qualifying for State attended the State Meet at Norman in May. The many honors these students brought to themselves and to their school is indicative of the fine quality of their work. Speech students appeared in assembly, in church and civic programs, and be- fore other groups in our city. Speech letters were awarded to those students who met the requirements.
