All students at Altus High School looked eagerly ahead to one of the biggest weeks of the school year which was Spirit Week sponsored by the Student Council. The week began by Seniors choosing three candidates for Homecoming Queen. Monday was also “Sock it to 'em day and Coaches Leg Contest. Tuesday was Baby Pictures Day and the spirit chain was started. The Volkswagon race was held Wednesday and Clash Day was Thursday. Friday was Blue and White Day and it was also Car Decoration Day. WINNING SENIORS who participated in the volkswagon race were Janie Waldrop, , Kathi Euchner, Melissa Mock, Alyson Class of '76 wins Spirit Week The winners of Spirit Week were announced in the Homecoming assembly. The Seniors, once again, won Spirit Week. The individual first place winners were Willie Sierer, Blue and White Day; Mark Morrison, car decoration; Senior girls, volkswagon race; and the baby pictures contest. The Junior class won hall decoration. Giving the Sophomore class points was Ann Blonion winning Clash Day. Sophomores also won the Spirit Chain. Winner of the Coaches Leg Contest was Coach David Brown.
