Members build houses; overhaul autos The Altus chapter of the Vo- cational Industrial Clubs of Amer- ica (VICA) is made up of students enrolled in vocational auto me- chanics and vocational carpentary classes. Students enrolled in Mr. Robert Killebrew's class this year are receiving the experience of build- ing two houses. House construc- tion has become an annual pro- ject every year. Each house is completely finished with a turn key job. Under the direction of Mr. Ray Vinyard. Altus High School auto mechanics instructor, vocational students are guided in completing one or two major overhauls. Graduates are adequately trained to begin an immediate future in mechanics or to attend a tech- nical college. One of the main functions of VICA is to promote leadership and speaking ability. OFFICERS FOR VICA this year are Johnnie Moore, president; Glen Goforth, vice- president; Rick Wallace, parliamentarian: Bobby Sirmons. treasurer. Brad Booker. Chaplin and Danny Pohling, historian. The officers helped the sponsors plan programs, out-of-town trips and helped make arrangements for the spring VICA banquet when the queen was crowned. 22-Vocational Industrial Clubs of America
