PRINCIPAL'S DEPARTMENT Council, cumulative records approved by Mr. Jerry Doyle Core of the entire school is the principal's ad- ministrative offices where teachers come for bulletins, conferences and supplies,- students re- port for admission and permission slips; parents call for information, and the general public secures data varying from open dates for the cafeteria rental to references concerning students who may have been graduated a decade ago. Mr. Jerry Doyle, new principal, introduced record files for student grades and personally sponsored the first student government at AHS in many years. PRIVATE conferences without interruptions were made possible in the new location of the principal's office. Mr. Jerry Doyle waits for his next appointment. INTERCOM system is important asset to Attendance Director Bill Starr in communications with student body. Usual announcement periods are first and fifth hours. INFORMATION CENTER bulletins and faculty mail are sorted by Linda Marsh, AJC work-study student assigned to principal's office. 22

BUSINESS EDUCATION Clerical skills improve job opportunity, home work grades AHS business education department serves a three-fold purpose for its students. Some learn skills for future employment in civil service, industry, business and education. Others are able to earn their way while attending college, and still others use their training for such per- sonal needs as academic assignments, and busi- ness letters. Those enrolled in beginning computer pro- gramming gain immediate benefits in space age college courses and in industrial vocations. INCOME TAX forms will have no fears for students who studied the principles of preparing returns in the clerical practice class of Mr. Nick Wolfe. MISS GLADE CLEMONS, M B A., attended Central State College, West Texas State, and OU. She teaches Business English and Typing I MR. EARL HERRON, B.S., attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma. He is director of the Neighborhood Youth Corps for five counties with headquarters at AHS. BLIND KEYBOARD typists constantly refer to the typing chart displayed by Mrs. N. H. Williams, instructor. 24
