BULLDOG SERVICE Desire to excel typifies classroom, playing field NEW ADDITIONS widened the horizons of Atlus High's campus, but the traditional favorite is the original main building. RECENTLY built cafeteria adds modern ap- pearance to campus structures and served as a meeting place for school and community activities. ANNUAL PARTICIPATION in the Christmas parade was carried on this year but many club floats were graced with the faces of their new queens. 16 MINUTES BEFORE the morning bells ring provide conversation time for students who gather outside the main building. BULLDOG LANE, long a favorite path for Big Blue fans, is a well used passageway for afternoon exits.

dedication School progress living memorial for Mr. Walter Marshall Influence of a teacher, it is said, lives on until eternity. Mr. Walter Marshall never taught a public school class, but by his deeds he taught lessons which can be learned only by examples. These, too, live on. At the time of his death last August, Mr. Marshall was serving his sixth year as president of the Altus Board of Education and his fifteenth as a board member. Probably no position is as thankless, as time consuming and as influential. Board members receive no pay, except that intangible, non-monetary recompense which prompted Mr. Marshall to work tirelessly for the betterment of educational apportunity for all young people. Mr. Marshall's name will be known to generations of school boys and girls as they read it on the cornerstones of buildings on this and the other campuses of Altus schools, and as they watch teams perform at Marshall Field. For those of us who had the good fortune to know him as a person he is remembered as a friend and the father of Ted Mar- shall, our schoolmate. Altus Bulldog staff members have still another memory. We knew Mr. Marshall as a publications fan, who enjoyed the year- book so much he wanted his copy each spring as soon as it arrived, and promptly read it from cover to cover. In grateful appreciation we dedicate the 1968 Bulldog as a memorial to Mr. Walter Marshall. MR. WAITER MARSHALL as president of Altus Board of Education COMPUTER LABORATORY approval was one of the high points of Mr. Walter Marshall's tenure as president of the Altus Board of Education. He reads the docu- ment held by Mr. Clifford Peterson, Super- intendent of Schools. With him are other board members, Mr. Eugene Bryce, Mr. Hatton McMahan, Mr. Jack Colville and Mr. Joe Buck.
