As we look at UGrandfather's Clocku, we find that Ulcng, Long,
Agon, in the fall of l9h9 we, then numbering thirteen, came HTranp,
Tramp, Trampin'N, into the halls of Alton High as freshmen. At first
we were NBewilderedH because we were called NGreen Freshien by the
haughty seniors, but we realized that HThere'll Come A Timen, when we,
too, would become dignified seniors.
The freshman year began as a busy one. Our officersg president,
Donald hallaceg vice-president, Patsy Hunterg secretary, Treva West-
fallg treasurer, Donna Millerg student council representative, Elvin
Duerg and sponsor, Mr. Jansen had a HFul Time John.
When HSchoo1 Daysu came the following fall, we welcomed Lova
Hulse, as a new member. Our officersg Darrell Crusha, president, Elvin
Duerg vice-presidentg Treva Westfall, secretary and treasurerg Donald
Wallace , student council representative,and Mrs. Voss, sponsor worked
hard for 'The End Of A Perfect Dayn. Finally the NGood Old Summertime
HThe Long, Long Trail A Windenn, seemed too difficult for Jerry
Boland. Our junior class officers were Darrell Crusha, presidentg Bob
Reeves, vice-president, Treva Westfall, secretary and treasurer, Don-
ald Wallace, student council representativeg and Mrs. Voss, sponsor.
In the HPretty Month Of Mayn we gave our Junior-Senior Banquet.
Our theme was HDiamond Horseshoe Roundupn. Quickly our Junior year
went NSailingH by.
WHail, Hail, The Gang's All Hereu. Yes, with the exception of a
few classmates, Lova Hulse, Donna Miller, Patsy Hunter, and Duane
Snyder, who thought HMy Work Is Donen. We welcomed Bob Gilliland and
Arlene Duff as members. Velma Wilkenson joined us the second semesten
Rapidly the year drew to a close and we all started to talk about the
NGood Old Days Gone Byn.
Our officers areg Darrell Crusha, president: Elvin Duer, vice-
presidentg Treva Westfall, secretary and treasurer, Donald Wallace,
student council representative, and Mr. Voss, sponsor. Mr. Voss
wonderful in helping us with the senior play, graduation exercise,
other class activities.
Finally as HThe Long Day Closesn, May 15, we marched down the
aisles to receive our diplomas, together we had come UThrough The
