Alton Senior High School, in the scnool year 1958-59, was rated one of the top high schools in the state of Illinois. This rating was not acquired by pure chance. It took some student work, some teacher work, and a lot of trained and expert guidance. This guidance has been provided by Mr. G. C. Davis, head administrator of Alton High. Assisting Mr. Davis, are Mr. Anton Jureziz and Mr. George Abner. Without the constant, ever-anxious work of these two men, Alton High would never be the superb school it is. With the continued guidance of men such as these, Alton Senior High School shall forever continue to be the best and foremost school in the minds of our fellow classmates and the citizens of Alton. 18
