Alton High School Orchestra
From the strains of Rachmaninov
to the songs of Rogers and Hammerf
stein, the Alton High School Orches-
tra renders to the student body a cross
section of classical and semi-classical
music. The group, under the direction
of Mr. Stuchlik is composed of out-
standing band members and those stu-
dents who play stringed instruments.
This year the orchestra presented
an assembly to the student body. They
also participated in an award program
with the band and chorus.
At the award program members
were presented with letters and pins.
For the first time, a senior student,
Roy Stillwell, was awarded the Arion
award fororchestra work. The stu-
dent body should indeed be proud of
their fine orchestra.
