The F.T.A. is a national organ-
ization whose purpose is to stimu-
late interest in the profession of
teaching. This year as a semester
project, the club presented shiny,
red apples to the teachers at Alton
High during National Education
Week, They also help at Teachers'
Institute, directed by Miss Iewell
Sutherland, the sponsor.

year with a potluck for the in-
ductees, They, like the other

and money making projects.

The Ir, Red Cross under the
leadership of Miss Opal Renner
carries out many acts of service dur-
ing the year: among these are mak-
ing tray decorations for the hospi-
tals and filling overseas boxes. ln
general they act as an auxiliary to
the American Red Cross.
