Last spring largely because of the hard work of the Board. Alton voted to spend five million dollars for improvement of our school system. Superintendent Mr. Iohnson has been serving Al- ton since 1929 and has been Super- intendent since 1947. Under his di- rection we have grown into one of the best school systems in the state. His pleasing personality and practice of hard work have become his trade- marks. Mr. Leamon as assistant super- intendent has moved into a new post this year. His job is to assist Mr. Iohnson in whatever duties are neces- sary. Mr. Pruitt is the administrative assistant in charge of Iunior and Senior High Curriculum.
