Mrs. Olin, will- ol' the donor, has a particular interest in her husband's attitude toward the importance ol' industrial education. Nlrs. Ulin has been proud that her uncle had tiounded at Toledo, Uhio, the tirst manual training svhool in the country. She ta lies a pardonable pride in the tiact that her husband in his ripeness ot' experience is founding the tirst vocational training school ot' any size in Alton. As a preliminary step toward planning the new building, Superintendent' I B. Iohnson and a committee visited outstanding industrial schools in the llliddle Xvest and in the Fast to make a Complete study and .analysis of their physical plants and tiacilities ot' those schools. Schlosser, the new huilding will provide complete voca- f' X tional facilities for the school district and enahle all those who wish to he trained 1 1 in the vocational education to do so. , "The construction of the new school," said Alr. Ulin, "is to he oli the tinest . quality." It is his purpose to give the Alton area a vocational training school that will have no superior in the country among communities ol' comparable size. The project is to he a memorial to Franklin XV.
