Warriors. We scored in second quarter on a pass and later we downed our own punt on Granite's 1 yard stripe. They punted to their 27 and Wood raced back to the 15. Two line plays netted number 2. Then for number 3 we started on our 20 making 80 yards and a touchdown before Granite found who really had the ball. Granite threatened only once. Stallings, McCaskill and Lazar scored. Final Of20. We traveled to Collinsville remembering the Arctic zone of 1937 when the Kahoks got a 6f0 win but this year the Redbirds vowed "They Shall Not Pass." The Redbirds lost a counter on an end zone fumble but came back to life and marched from the middle of the fie'd to score. Schwartz and Lazar pass combination netted an' other touchdown. Each of the two times the Kahoks started somewhere they found Harvey Moore stealing their "well" directed pass and the Indians died peacefully on the short end of a 0f13 score. Our scorers were Stallings and Lazar. Let's make it NINE in a row was Alton's battle cry for the traditional Turkey Day game. For 8 years Western had sought victory and it was in 1934 they had scored their last points. Western had seen a poor season pass by partly due to injuries-Alton for once was conceded victory, a position Coach Jackson never Wants. A great day-a crowd-and what a game. The heavy cadets were tough on line plays but susf ceptible to passes and the faster charging Red' birds. Alton scored in second quarter when Schwartz lateraled to Lazar on the Cadet 13 after he himself had received McCaskill's pass on the 28. It was one of the season's fastest pass combinaf tions. Western failed to score as the half ended with the Cadets short of the goal line by a mere half foot. In the second half Beane blocked a punt of Western on their 13, and Stallings made quick work of a touchdown. A few moments later an' other forward and lateral McCaskill to Lazar to Schwartz added Number 3 touchdown. Late in the 4th quarter Casperson eluded the Alton eleven for a 29 yard run to Alton's eleven. Here their one good pass clicked and the game ended Alton 21-Western 6. YESA9 in a vow. Lazar, Stallings and Schwartz were our scorers,
