troupes. The Dramatic club sponsors the local

The Dramatic club is one of the elective clubs
in the school. To become a member one must
either tryfout or display special aptitude for
dramatics. Miss Mildred Rutledge is the faculty
sponsor and director of major productions. The
organization presents two long plays each school
year. During the 1939740 season H320 College
Avenue" and "June Mad" were presented to
large and appreciative audiences.

In addition to the long productions several
student directed assembly programs Were sponf
sored by the club. The purpose of such an organizaf
tion is to arouse an intelligent interest in dramatics
in high school people, and various Speakers explain
numerous phases of dramatic art to the clubs.
The dramatic club also sponsors the local
chapter of National Thespians.
