Der Deutsche Verein was organized in 1934.
The purpose of the club is to stimulate an interest
in German Culture as it is found in the literature
and language of the country. Second semester

This organization observed the anniversary of
its first decade of service to Alton High on jan'
uary 11, 1938. During these years the Council
has been prominent in all the affairs of high school
life, Its members are representative girls, chosen
from the leaders of the student body. During its

The Boys' Cabinet was founded in January,
1928, when boys who had acted as guides for
freshmen organized a service club. The purpose
of the Cabinet is to serve the school and to en'
courage beneficial activities among the boys. The
Cabinet members are always ready to assist in
school projects in any way they can. They sponsor
the high school excursion each year, manage the
score board at football games, act as gatemen at
