The Science club IS one of the newer organlzations of the school and came into existence in the f ill
of 1937 because of the desire on the part of some students to carry on scientific studies beyond the regul ir
classroom work These problems are studied informally by the entire group it the regul ir club meetings
cover the cost of materials used in the experiments Membership is limited to those who hive 1 genuine
interest in the experiments
Occasionally the club tours nearby factories with emphasis on the chemical side of the industries
They have been through the Owens Illinois Glass factory and the Laclede Steel Mill this year
