Nancy Hicks Jon Browning Hugh Dodson B.S. Madison College B.S. East Tennessee State University BS V.P.17 6.5.02 Today’s Students Tomorrow’s Citizens The overall objectives of any Social Studies class is to produce good citizens. This is accomplished through im- parting a basic knowledge and understanding of the history and cultures of the United States. Unfortunately, good citizenship cannot be measured in the same way that communicative skills and computational skills are meas- ured. Just because a student knows all of the laws does not mean that he will not break a law, but social studies personnel are hopeful that knowledge and understanding will lead to good citizenship. ete Lillian Andrew A.B.
