This was a year of growth for the
waterpolo teams, with all levels
seeing improvement under the di-
rection of coach Phil Weiny, a new
member of the Braves' coaching staff.
On the varsity level, most valuable
player, Chris Redner, put forth an
excellent effort on offense, and was
a real asset to the team. Co-captain,
Neil McCallum proved his worth as
goalie again this year. Another
all-round effort was made by Co-
captain Dan Giesert. The most
improved player was Jim Gailliot
with his fine performance on offense.
ln all, the team had its best season
in the school's history.
Considering the lack of players and
the superior teams played, the B's
and C's did a remarkable iob. Lead-
ing the B's was Captain Bruce Linden,
with the most outstanding player
award going to Shawn Busch. But
their outstanding performances
couldn't have been achieved without
the fine support of the team. On
the C level, Captain Don Jeffress
led the team valiantlyf most valuable
player was Charles Harris.

to Chris Torrence brought the team to very high scoring victories.
Captains Bill Rhodes, guard, and Mike Tess, halfback, helped
to spirit the team on the field by holding their opponents to 54
points this season. The Braves offense scored 212 points in eight

There's a saying, "You can't tell a book by its cover," which is exactly what tits our Braves' J .V. wrestling team. These
wrestlers, even though they may not look like wrestlers in this picture, went out to tear up our opponents, which is what
they did. ln league play they were undefeated with Ray Cupp, most valuable, pacing the way. Such a record as ten wins
and two losses could not have been achieved without the guidance of Coach Bruce. Outstanding performances were made by
Ray Cupp, John Sandlin, Gene West, Ross Anderson, Tom Bravo, Don Rasmussen, and Chuck Choinacki .

This year the Varsity baseball team got off to a great start by defeating Garey and Charter Oak in scrimmages. Twenty-eight
runs were scored with the hitting attack being led by Mike Tess, Tony Alvarez, and Rudy Mendosa. Shawn Blakeman,
showing strong pitching may find some no-hitters under his belt. Claremont and Yucaipa were next to be put in the ground
during the Braves' next two encounters. A great defense and offense shown on the Field might put another league title in
Coach Keoughs' Favor .
