p up , 39 SOCIAL NOTES Friday, September 21, is the day to which the freshmen look back, their initiation day, with its many gruesome and unforgettable memories, The day's events, including miles of walking and singing, were climaxed by a seven course meal of insects, worms, and other delicious raw food, This served as an appetizer for the regular lunch served. The freshmen returned this eventful party on October 19, Games were played and lunch was served. The Alsen School Carnival held on Friday, October 21, exceeded last year's carnival both in gross and net receipts, with attendance up from last year. The net profit was S5388.6O, King and Queen of the carnival were the senior candidates, Norman Graber and Mary Lou Klein, Other candidates were James Furbur and Gladys Kaye for the juniors, Mark Kreklau and Jan- ice Alain for the sophomores, and Duane Fast and Donna Sever- son for the freshmen, A The Christmas party was held on December 23. Gifts were exchanged. Candy and peanuts were distributed to all the students in school, compliments of the PTA., No parties were held during the basketball season be- cause time was not available.
