Graduation Senator Mark Hatfield was the featured guest speaker at graduation, which was attended by over 400 people. Seniors who also spoke at the ceremony were Teresa Short, class president Mark Bauer, co-valedictorians Kurt Stone and Steve Jackson, and Wendie Riley. Counselor Jim Mullenix and superintendent Chuck Jackson presented scholarships and awards. Kurt Stone and Steve Jackson received the Oregon Scholar awards. Stone also received the Elks scholarship, while Jackson received a one-term scholarship to LBCC. Maxine Dallmann received a full year's tuition scholarship to LBCC, the DAR award, and Alsea's Support Our Schools QSOSJ scholarship. Teresa Short received the Bradfield Memorial Scholarship.
