Track We had a really good season, said coach Peter Shoshin about the track team. We ended the season with more participants than in the past and collected more points at district C425 than ever before. He said the team was especially strong in field events. Seniors Steve Jackson and Kurt Stone both advanced to the state meet at Lewis and Clark College. Jackson ran a personal best of 2:00.85 in the preliminaries of the 800 meter and took fourth in the finals. Stone took seventh in the shot put with a throw of 43' Q . English 81 Kingfisher English classes addressed a variety of language skills: writing letters, essays and research papers, reading and discussing short stories, novels, poems, essays and plays: and studying aspects of the language such as punctuation, usage, and grammar. Mike Wood and Bonnie Hill taught English 9-12. Patsy Jones taught the Kingfisher class, which published an issue that featured logging in the Alsea area.
