Senior Class History On August 23, 1948, our present Senior Class started with twenty- seven Freshmen enrolled. This was a day we had long looked forward to. We elected the following class officers: President, James Neale, Vice President, J. D. Grogan, Secretary, Sue Thompson, Reporter, Rosetta Wilson. We chose Mrs. Trucille Kemp for our sponsor. We were represented on the basketball team by James Neale, Harry Lovett and J. D. Grogan. Our classmate, Betty Ahart, was attendant to the Basketball Queen. We were honored to have another of our classmates, Sue Thompson, elected as cheerleader. As our Freshman play, we present- ed Funny Bratsf' We enjoyed our class picnic at the Kentucky Dam. At the beginning of our Sophomore year we had twenty-six enrolled in class. The following students did not return: Norma Jean Bennett, Barbara Burkeen, Frankie Lee Hurt and Wanda Collins. We were glad to have Bobbie Jean Darnell, Shirley Alexander, Sue Bonds, James Max Puckett, Sonny Lockhart and Billy Coursey join our class during the year. We were represented on the basketball team by Heyward Roberts, and James Neale. Sue Thompson was again elected cheerleader. Our candidate for Basketball Queen was Betty Ahart. We presented a three- act comedy, Pigtails. Our class picnic was an enjoyable event at the Noble Park. I We started our Jolly Junior year in 1950 with Mr. Milton Walston as our sponsor. The following classmates did not return: Bobbie Darnell, Carlene Moody and James Max Puckett. These students quit school during the first semester: Sue Thompson, Sue Nelson, Mary Edith Miller, Loreda Lawrence, Glenda Sue Ellis, Evelyn Willoughby, Betty Ahart and Heyward Roberts. We chose the following class officers: President, Sonny Lock- hart, Vice President, Fannie Mae McClard, Secretary, Peggy Jackson, Reporter, Billy Coursey. We were represented on the basketball team by Sonny Lockhart and Billy Coursey. We were very proud to have one of our classmates, Jo Ann Oldham, chosen as Basketball Queen. Our Junior Play was en- titled Zeke and Daisy. We enjoyed our J unior-Senior trip to St. Louis. Now that we are Dignified Seniors we have fourteen Seniors en- rolled. The following students did not return: Wilma Dean Jones and Rosemary Butler, Billy Coursey quit during the first six weeks of school. Our class officers for the year are Sonny Lockhart, President, James Neale, Vice-President, Peggy Jackson, Secretary, Rosetta Wilson, Re- porter. We are proud to have a classmate, Shirley Ann Alexander, elected as cheerleader. Our Senior basketball players are Sonny Lockhart and James Neale. Now that we are ending our high school years, we would like to thank each teacher for his help during the years. Especially are we grateful to Mr. W. B. Miller for his guidance during this, our Senior year.
