1 NOW IS THE HOUR, WHEN WE MUST SAY GOODBY .... Graduation for the 125 students of the class of '54 took place on June 10. For the first time in the history of Alma High, the commencement services were held on the college lawn. Besides being the first outside commencement it was the first time that student participation was stressed. Student speakers were Jack Schnepp, Marilyn O'Boyle, Chris Croutis, and Sharon Roslund. Sharing valedictorian honors were Carol Blanck and Dorothy Harker. The next four in order of standing were Shirley Wiitanen, Pat Schnepp, Wilma Reed and Wilma Thrush.
