RESUME Charles C-arvenck Coach Wnlllam Fox Manager Thus fall boys from many of our eastern and New England states came to Allentown Prep to play football together as teammates for the first time Although the season had Its setbacks the boys all gave un spate of the great odds they worked against The games tned or lost were thrlllmg and keenly unterestlng and the season had many hughllghts Although the Prep gndders suffered defeat at the hands of the Albrnght Freshmen at Reading the Royal Purple twice held the year lungs for downs wlthm the flve yard lrne At West Pount agannst the Army Plebes the Preppers best defense was shown In the last quar ter when the boys forced the Army to lose ground on several occasrons and refused to yleld to any more scormg attempts Perhaps the most spectacular moments of the season were nn the night game agannst York Collegiate Institute when late In the last quarter the A P S grldders staged a powerful march down the fneld for the touchdown that tned the score Manager creditable accounts of themselves, A I ' 9
