I ALPREf CI-I CD 'ff' gg . JUKES Geffyfburg flddremx a la Prep. School. Two years and seven months ago our fathers brought forth upon this continent an idiotic law, conceived the day after the night before and dedicated to the proposition that all liquor is intoxicating, yea even unto shoe polish. We Ii lilliii - , , :II lllili xl X f N, l 4 l I are met at the morgue. We have come to identify the last few remains of our lawful friend who has given his life trying to prove this. It is altogether fitting and proper that we bury him. But in a larger sense we cannot live, we cannot be merry by drinking orange ade. The brave men drunk and sober have concen- trated it far above our poor power to add or subtract. The world will little note what we say here, but they shall always remember our cry for better beer. It is for us the drunk rather than the sober to be left here with the un- finished flasks which they have so nobly given. It is for us the sober to be here dedicated with the large flasks remaining before us, and that from these honored dead we take their last full quart for consumption, and that we hereby highly resolve that these men have not drunk in vain, and that this nation under God shall have a new brand-for the people, in the people, and by the bootleggers which shall not perish from this earth. By H. C. Freedman KRAUSS - Did youse hear bout de treek someone played on Iacobs? FISHER - No. I KRAUSS - Some one left von of dem there birth control pamphlets in his hen house and he ain't had no eggs for a whole month. GENT: Cengaging chaufferj - And when we're not using the car there's the poul- try house to clean, the dogs to look after, and you can give the gardener a hand in your spare time. APPLICANT - Yes sir and what kind of soil is it? GENT - Soil. Why? APPLICANT - I just thought if it was clay soil, I might make a few, bricks to fill in the time. SELL - How many barrels do you sell a week? TRINKLE -Q About twenty. SELL - Well I can tell you how to sell twenty-five barrels of beer a week. TRINKLE - How? SELL - Fill the glasses properly. SHE - I wish I had thought twice before I married you. HE - I'd be satisfied ifl had really thought just once. J fljx M7 N. 2, X I , One Hundred Thirty-two
