117 Pc TIQACK TEAM HIS YEAR our track team was organized in the fall and under the guidance of coach, Mr. E. C. Abbott, moulded into one of the best teams the school has ever had. lust before the cold weather came we held an Inter-Class Meet, during which the ability of the boys was very encourag- ing to the coach and school as a whole. During the winter months the boys practised, off and on, in the gym. At the first sign of spring they were ushered out of doors and began spring training in earnest. The first of our out door meets was at home with our old rivals, Stroudsburg Teachers College. We won this meet and took eleven of the twelve first places. After a successful trip to the Penn relays we met Perkiomen School here. They also fell before us and four records were broken on that day. The biggest feature occuring when Powell threw the shot C12 lbs.J for a distance of 51'-ILQH breaking the schools record by more than six feet. On May 8th the team won a triangular meet with Muhlen- berg and Lafayette Frosh. On the 11th of May the track team journeyed to Princeton to compete in an Interscholastic Meet held there. They tied for sixth place. Welsh ran the best mile he had ever run up to that time making a time of 4:51. In the remaining meets with Ursinus Frosh, and the Inter- scholastic Meets at F. 81 M. and Perkiomen they were successful and came thru with flying colors and deserve the praise of the school as a whole.
