mo:-L---1----fvauistlomms--+ -49 CALENDAR 1948-49 '09 FEBRUARY- 18-No school, teachers' institute. We beat Grayville 59-37 and we will win a conference trophy. 21-Don Price, Jerry Potts, Ron Simmons, Frank Higgins and Gene Hawf skipped school and were caught. 22-Above named boys bring their parents to school and talk it over with Mr. Hensley. I wonder why Jim Wolfe, Bob Grounds, and Don Grounds didn't get caught. 23-Coach has trouble making Rosalie Boyd turn around in the assembly. The first game in the District Tournament was won by Allendale over West Salem, 76-44. 24-Seniors step up work on annual. 25--Allendale loses to Saints in District finals . 28-ALLENDALE BEATS MT. CARMEL in Regional Tournament, 51-43. Doc Gilliat promises the boys a steak supper. MARCH- 1-Everybody makes a speech the 1, 2, 3 periods to celebrate our victory over the ACES, even Miss Yarber. Mr. Hensley breaks down and lets us off the rest of the morning. 2-Jerry Potts collects kisses from girls in paper room, namely, Alicia Beasley and Joan Price. We lose to Albion Lions 54-44. 3-Mr. Hensley breaks down and says no exams all this week, and to tear up all the old ones. 14-Class Tournaments begin. Semi-finals, Sophomores beat Seniors. Junior beat Freshmen. 15-Juniors win tourney by defeating the'Sophomores. Seniors take third b. . victory over the Freshmen. APRIL- 1--April Fool's day. The joke is on you teachers. 8-High School Operetta. Congratulations are in store. 15--Good Friday and a holiday. 5th grade period ends. -Senior Play, Let Me Out of Here. A great SUCCESS. MAY- 13-Junior-Senior banquet. What a FEAST. 20-Senior Exams. THE END. 27-28-Second Semester Exams. 31-Commencement and school ends.

l u9 MfM0llms 49 CALENDAR 1948-49 '00 JANUARY- 3-First day of school. Boys chorus is started by Miss Simpson. 4-Flat Rock bows to Allendale, 45-44. Gene Johnson has a birthday. 5-We beat Crossville by a score of 42-40. Mr. Martin promises the boys a treat. 6-Martin buys two boxes of candy for the boys. Everyone gets their fill. Night F. F. A. meeting. 10-New books for the library arrive. 11-Oh! these cold, cold mornings. What imaginations these Seniors have. 12-Girls take Alicia B.'s clothes off in the cloak room and hide them. Senior boys go to Mt. Carmel to sell ads for the annual and are very successful, but makes Coach very mad! 13-Allendale starts tournament at Crossville with a -win over Grayville. 14-Allendale wins Little Ten Tournament at Crossville with a victory over Albion in an over-time score of 48-44. 17-Everybody makes a big speech the' first period and Jerry Potts presents the trophy to the school. First ten basketball boys and cheerleaders are treated in the kitchen with pop, candy, and ice cream. fThanks, Mr. Martin and Mr. Faith.J 18-Miss Yarber wears a new suit to school. 19-School lets out half a day to fix heaters. 20-21-Semester Exams. 24-Rain and school. 25-More rain and school. 26-More rain and more school. , 28-The lunch room is flooded and no lunches are fixed. The roads are flooded and we are not taking a booster bus to Enfield. We won anyway , 61-39. 31-Snowed last night. Plenty of snow balls now. FEBRUARY- 1-Potts is seen putting snow down little Senior girls' dresses. Group and basketball pictures get here. 2--Free dried peaches to all. 3--Mr. Hensley talks to assembly about resting in rest roomg too much of it is going on he says. 4-Make trip to beat West Salem, 64-48. 7--Boys are seen mussing girl's hair and then taking their pictures. 9-Mrs. Hensley lectures in assembly on conduct out of school grounds. Who told, girls? 10-Coach uses June's shoe on La Rue in front of assembly. 14-Ryland Webb chases Marjorie Price around the assembly until stopped by Miss Yarber.
