Fifth Row: James Watkin Q Honor Student J, Earline Saltsgaver f Mumps J, Emily Winters f George Field Spec-ial J, Tommy Ellis i Honey Chile J. SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY '33 We began our career in A. H. S. as freshmen with twenty members. This year we started out on September 2, 1946 as sophomores with twenty-one students but we soon dwindled down to seventeen. We chose the following class officers: president, William Sparksg vice-president, Rose Marie Dudleyg secretary and treasurer, Jo Ann Brinkleyg and a party committee of three: Omer Banks, Donald Price, and Mary Louise Hipsher. Mr. Carlton Busen- hart was chosen as our sponsor. We had several boys out for basketball this year Jerry Potts, Billy Sparks, James Watkin, Bernard McFarland, and Donald Price. We had one girl out of our class as cheerleader, Jo Ann Brinkley. Several of our class made the honor roll. We had several in the different organi- zations such as library staff, News staff, Pep club, F. F. A., Science club, Glee club, octette, etc. In October we had a 'l'acky Party. Billy Sparks and Emily Jane Winter won' the prizes as the Utackiest dressed boy and girl. We played several different games and refreshments were served later in the dining room. Every one seemed to enjoy himself.
