Community: as one with others 1743A silent building awakes in the rays of a rising sun. Glistening windows reflect the budding morning as the contents of the building reflect its purpose. Books, desks, lockers stacked with pages of learning, classes filled with pages to teach—a school.
45Gradually the building fills with life. A teacher with briefcase prepares to enlighten minds, not only with recorded facts, but with classroom experience itself.
Students rush into awaiting classes ready to focus upon the study of the day. A solution is found, a concept is understood and a note is passed. Voices sound, a pencil drops and the bell rings. But the clatter of halls not only marks the passing of a class, but the passing of precious time. Time in which thoughts grow and images become real. The individual arises.
678The cafeteria is filled and emptied. More classes begin and cease and the final bell rings. Life drains from the school. Yet, as ger-bils scurry much relieved and a janitor pushes past, a stir of activity still hums through widening halls. Dirty tennies race past making the once bustling halls an indoor track. Posters, fluttering from the runners' speed, remind. One classroom-full of intense chess players, another —future plans are proposed. Cheerleaders practice spirited routines . . . legs fly, hands clap and pompons held high shimmer and shiver. A late straggler scuttles out the door. A lone student stands waiting in the lobby . . . reflecting on thoughts of tomorrow.
yPictures, out of focus
suddenly,
after twelve long days of your I ife, brought clearly into view
with nearly blinding sharpness.

Determination, guts, hard earned skills, good times, willingness, and tragedy led the Jaguars to the first undefeated season in the history of Allen Park High. The devoted team, working together with the coaches, symbolizing a "family", giving to one another through hard times and happiness, produced winners not just in name but in the heart, a prize well earned and never forgotten.

'We Are Ladies . .
They must be ladies, but they're certainly not lazy. Hard, treacherous, unbearable practices; sore aching muscles, bruised knees, and broken fingernails led the Junior girls to a victory over the Senior women. GO PLACIDLY AMID THE NOISE HASTE, REMEMBER WHAT PEACE THERE MAY BE IN SILENCE. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly clearly; and listen to others, even the dull ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain bitter; for always there will be greater lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Superintendent
Richard Hogancamp
Assistant Superintendent
Harold Oatley
Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees the stars, you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever your labors aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

Never Say Goodbye To A Friend
Never say goodbye to a friend Goodbye fills the heart with emptiness and drains the mind of summer thoughts.
Never say goodbye to a friend, rather smile and part slowly certain of a future reunion.
Never say goodbye to a friend for the bitter finality of goodbye shatters the billowy sunshine of dreams.
Never say goodbye to a friend
True friends part only for a time
and then meet again in some new dream.
Never say goodbye to a friend
Goodbye lingers far from the smiles of hello,
painfully near to misty eyes of memory.
