EFFECTS OF WAR ON HIGH SCHOOL PUPILS Unlike students of former year, we of today are confronted by a serious problem-how to best serve our country in wartime. Our post-graduate plans are now formulated by an ardent determination to do our utmost to bring about permanent peace. Many of our boys have already taken definite steps toward entering one of the various branches of the armed forces. Tests sponsored by the government are being given to aid them in choosing the service for which they are best suited. Others are taking the accelerated courses offered by colleges. These develop talents along particular lines also necessary fundamentally to hasten the termination of this war. Girls, too, are taking a major part in speeding the victory. Rather than entering colleges to obtain merely a cultural background, they are now applying their efforts to aid in the present crisis. Upon graduation some will immediately enter the Cadet Nurse Corpsg others will become connected with vital war posi- tions in industry as well as in business. U NVe students realize that it will be our duty to rebuild a war-torn world. Vfith this issue in mind we are seriously preparing ourselves. Until that time arrives we shall do all in our power to facilitate victory and procure a lasting peace. '24
