"Going therefore teach ye all nations-".
From a handful of Christians in early Roman times, down to the millions
of Catholics spread throughout the world today, we see the fulfillment of Cl1rist's
promise, "And behold I am with you all days-D.
All Hallows has been particularly favored in having recently sent two of
its former faculty members to further the interests of Christ in the fields afar.
VVe of the Class of 1951 proudly dedicate this issue of the Halloween to
Reverend Brother Hayes and Reverend Brother St. Martin, who last December
left for South Africa as the forerunners of other Brothers from the American
Province who will bring the Light of Cod into the Heart of Darkness.

The Irish Christian Brothers pioneer African missionaries from the American
Province answer this question by making an oblation of their lives to Cod. In
keeping with this intrinsically Christian spirit of giving, weiat All Hallows help
support missionary activities by donating to the mission fund.

An atmosphere of extreme sanctity pervaded the
school during the three days of our retreat. The wise
and inspiring sermons of Rev. Father McCough, C.S.P,
who conducted the retreat, gave us a feeling of heaven
on earth. The entire student body attended Mass in
the school auditorium each morning and returned
there during the day to hear the sermons. The rosary
was recited in class during the afternoon, but most in-

This little sequence is intended to
show you a typical day in the life of
Mr. Rygiel and is dedicated to the man
whose versatility and interest have
made the All Hallows band the superb
musical organization which it is.
Particularly on this occasion it is
fitting to pay homage to our musical
director as 1951 marks Mr. Piygiel,s
fourth year at All Hallows and the
graduating class' band members owe
their whole basic musical knowledge
to his perseverance and teaching skill.
That's F sharp, not F.

A progressive step was taken this
year by All Hallows in the introduc-
tion of dance lessons as an extra-
curricular activity. This innovation,
the work of Brother I. C. Bates, was
greatly responsible for the increased
interest of the student body in social
activities.
With Brother Bates and his commit-
tee making the arrangements, and
Tom Simco, the Senior and
Swing Bands furnishing the
1950-1951 dances were
enjoyed by more people than
other season in All Hallows' history.

Due to the excellent guidance of Brother Downey,
President of the Edmundian Forensic League, the All
Hallows Debating Society has completed one of the
finest forensic years in its history, winning among other
awards the first place trophy in the Irish Christian
Brothers, Tournament. During Leonard Liggio's ten-
ure of office as president, a splendid schedule was ar-
ranged, and four All Hallows debaters received the
Degree of Distinction from the National Forensic
League.
James Murphy, a popular and adroit orator, and
Christian Steinlirunner, who rose to the forefront of
the Society by his fine showing in this yearis American
Legion contest, will both be included in the All Hal-
lows roster of 'KCreats,'.
Bryce Khadabux, an astute and talented parliamen-
tarian, was the school's premier ex tcmpore speaker.
The outstanding junior dchater was Paul Cibney, who
placed first in the Chaminade Tournament and in the
Holy Name Tournament.
Paul Gibney places first in the Holy Name Tournament of
Orators. Bishop Donohue congratulates Paul.

1951 proved to be a record success
year for the combined organizations
whose active member cooperation means
so much to All Hallows.
Highlighted by educational and social
events, the Ladies' Auxiliary, the Fathers,
and Alumni Clubs. and last but not least,
those "tYedncsday Nightersi' all gave un-
stintinglv of their time and labor to make
this a banner year of enterprise.
The Bazaar was again the outstanding
event of the season, representing as it
did the joint efforts of all the clubs.
Cratefully we extend our thanks to the
Presidents. the individual members and
helpers and in return ask manifold bless-

ALL HALLOWS vs. OYSTER BAY
An interception by Sam Mullins and a thirty-
five yard run by Don Gallagher accounted for
the Gaels' first score, a very important score.
The addition of the extra point by a Murray to
Mannix pass was the decisive movement of the
game. The resurgent Long Islanders bullied their
way to a T.D. after a sixty yard march only to
miss the extra point. Early in the second period,
Oyster Bay scored, again missing the extra point.
A. H. would not be outdone. Murray tossed an
accurate pass to Mullins and Sam went over. This
ended the scoring and the game ended in a 13-12
victory for All Hallows, a victory well deserved.

For the third consecutive year the All Hallows
Basketball Squad won the Division 1 Championship.
Although the team was the smallest championship
team All Hallows has ever had Can average of 5' l1"j,
they possessed talent in every sense of the word. Jack
Padian Q5' 8"Q and Dan Mannix C6' l"j, co-captains, led
their teammates to a 20-5 season. There was no one
star, all of the starting live of Padian, Mannix, Mullins,
Liebler, and Kelly worked together in their all-court
press to conquer twenty of their twenty-five opponents.
The strain of a long sehedule was shown in the play-
offs of the C.H.S.A.A. title contest with St. Simon
Stock. There are no excuses given for the loss, but
We can say one thing: the team never gave up, they
always played a game to the Wire. XV e are especially
proud of Mr. King, undoubtedly the best coach in the
city, Who, as in previous seasons, instilled the team
with a spirit unequaled by any other team in the City.
Standing: John Fitzgerald, Richard Barry, YValter
Olllara, james XVard, John Brady, James Bean,
Bernard Farraghcr, John Kelly.
