Scheduled for halftime of the Alisal Salinas game. the basketball queen ceremony was rich with lovely ladies vying for the coveted title. Candidates were Grace Bandong with escort John Smith: Cheryl Favero, escorted by Mike Climer Janice Haydon, who chose Mike Pura for her escort: Chris Morales and her escort Gary Rowe: Kathy Powell, and escort Doug Gray and Betty Puterbaugh, escorted by George Robles. The gala event peaked when Betty Puterbaugh was named 1974-75 Basketball Queen She was crowned by AFS student Mar Fle an, and - - Y 9 presented roses and a silver tray by 'Cupid' Jorge Barragan. Besides swimming. eating and fooling around. there was an ice cream-eating contest between Mr, Drake and Jorge Barragan. Also the Freshman officers met the challenge of the Administration in a basketball game. with secretaries acting as cheerleaders. As a finale for the evening.
