Besides swimming. eating and fooling around. there was an ice cream-eating contest between Mr, Drake and Jorge Barragan. Also the Freshman officers met the challenge of the Administration in a basketball game. with secretaries acting as cheerleaders. As a finale for the evening. Throughout the week prior to the dance, many couples sold tickets for raffles in hopes of capturing the King and Queen of Hearts title. The dance commenced on Saturday the eighth, with Three's the Limit providing the music. Midway through the evening, the music was halted. HUD V Venn . . . I I4-1 Basketball Homecoming Queen One of the highlights of this year's basketball season was Basketball Homecoming. Scheduled for halftime of the Alisal Salinas game. the basketball queen ceremony was rich with lovely ladies vying for the coveted title. Candidates were Grace Bandong with escort John Smith: Cheryl Favero, escorted by Mike Climer Janice Haydon, who chose Mike Pura for her escort: Chris Morales and her escort Gary Rowe: Kathy Powell, and escort Doug Gray and Betty Puterbaugh, escorted by George Robles. The gala event peaked when Betty Puterbaugh was named 1974-75 Basketball Queen She was crowned by AFS student Mar Fle an, and - - Y 9 presented roses and a silver tray by 'Cupid' Jorge Barragan.
