David Matt was the winner of the airplane throw, while Mary Regan won the heavily contested bottle drinking competition. When the gunny sack race was over, Liz Edu and Chris Morales were declared winners. In all, it was a day to shake loose the present and relive the past. 6650 far AWQW9' . . . fereign Exchange Student Haereimail My name is Mary Reagan and I spent this year at Alisal High as your A.F.S. er. I come from a small country in the South Pacific called New Zealand. In describing New Zealand, I would say that it is a land of green hillls and fields, of mountains and lakes, of native bushes, and of small cities and towns. My hometown is New Plymouth which is a very pretty city of a little under 40.000. I have four brothers: three older. Paul, Kevin. Michael, and a younger brother, Philip. Although I find the life style in America very similar to what I was used to. I find school quite a different experience. In New Zealand I attended a parochial school with an enrollment of only 300 students! School emphasized academics far more than in America and classes such as home-making are not found in the school curriculum. I enjoy acting and reading, poetry. and I love Iisteing to music-Elton John and David Bowie especially. I also enjoy traveling and meeting people, and A.F.S. has really enabled me to do this! My year in America, the many wonderful people I've met, the places I've seen, the new things I've expereienced, and my time at Alisal will be in my memory always. Arahairue, Mary. 204 Activities
