'Var owboys, ikimgs Sing elhies... amboree 914 A wave of silence engulfed the stadium as the judge approached the microphone. Remembering last year's three-way tie, the crowd waited anxiously for the winner of the rooter's trophy to be announced. The decision proved Alisal to be true to form as we were declared the winners of the Flooter's Trophy for the ninth consecutive year. A loud, familiar cry of We're Number One rang throughout the proud Trojan rooting section. The sweet taste of victory was heightened by the play of our varsity football team as they ran over all competion to emerge far ahead as the 1974 Jamboree Champs. The Trojan gridsters racked up 36 points to blow past Salinas with 26 points, and North High with 3 points. The theme of the rooting this year was Academy Awards . sporting cleverly treated rollouts with slogans such as Vikings Sing the Blues and Exorcise the Cowboys .
