o 'Q Powerful Basebollers Uverpowel Dpposition The 1975 Trojan varsity baseball squad flexed its strength this year while breezing to another winning season. Coach Filice's talented team, which last season blasted its way to a third place finish in the Central Coast Section Playoffs, began its schedule with inconsistent play and pre-season jitters. but changed the tide by wading past most of the remaining opposition. Alisal boasted excellent outfield and pitching staffs, and a very competent infield. John Smith joined returning All-MBL picks Al Douglas and Gil Ruiz to give the Trojans the fastest outfield in the league. Amazing Gary Rowe. using his fantastic pitching skills throughout the season, teamed with Dan Comacho and Mike Hernandez to form a first class pitching staff. The Trojan infield consisted wholly of underclassmen, with the exception of third baseman Floyd Nelson. These talented players combined their skills with the high knowledge of Coach Filice to retain the winning tradition which has been exhibited by the past Trojan varsity baseball teams. The defending Monterey Bay League and Region IV champion team 1- was composed of five capable seniors and eight -A talented underclassmen, the latter of which will return next season to once again exhibit Alisal's fine line of play by the Trojan baseball teams.
