Peppermint candy canes, sprigs of mistletoe, and brightly decorated doors created the Christmas mood for the students of Alisal High. Students and teachers smiled gaily at one another as Christmas music and festivities penetrated through the school. Everyone was eager to join in with the spirit of the upcoming holiday. Freshmen sold tasty cookies, while Sophomores. for the second year in a row. sold candy canes. and the Juniors passed out mistletoe for a small price, Many of the clubs entered into the annual Door Decorating Contest and let their imaginations go, creating interesting and colorful doors. Everyone took part in making Christmas spirit alive at Alisal. Even when everyone left for vacation, the halls still lingered with the true spirit of Christmas. A Social athering . . . Assemblies The audience waited in suspence as the man shook the bottle vigorously. Seconds later. the audience gasped as a mass of white foam rubber flew out of the bottle. Later, the man picked a student from the audience to be in his next demonstration. The students eagerly awaited to see what would happen next. The Previews of Progress demonstration is just one example of the assemblies Alisal High had this year. This assembly was given by two General Electric representatives who gave our school descriptive, illustrated examples of today's progress in the field of science. Tim Owens, a country western artist from Nashville. Tennessee. filled the gym with his own special style of music and captivated the audience at another one of our assemblies. He soon had the students clapping their hands to the beat of his music as he willingly sang and strummed his guitar. These two programs are examples of the successful and entertaining assemblies the students at Alisal had this year. Many thanks to commissioner oflpublicity, Kathy Powell, for arranging these fine assemblies. f , 51 ilu Students wait in suspense while the General Electric representative shakes the bottle vigorously.
