OPPONENTS TOUGH COMPETITIO The 1970 Jamboree was a memorable one, as Alisal High's varsity football team won the Jamboree Football Trophy for the first time in the history of Alisal High School. Coaches Chuck Filice, Bob Enea, and Milt Pickford's team finished the night with 18 points. This year the defense was nicknamed the Green Chain while the offense was dubbed the Green Machine . Following their tie with Carmel, Where Ron Choate led the Green Machine running attack with 242 yards gained, they then defeated Aptos High with the score of 34-14. The varsity finished the 1970 Monterey Bay League football season with a 4-4-2 record. Against North High the HGrcen Chain held the Vikings scoreless as the Trojan's offense battled North High to a 14-0 score in the final quarter. Outstanding throughout the season have been backs Ron Choate, Pete Mazzuca, Tom Smith, Leon Scott, and quarterback Bob Palma. Linemen were Alex Pardo, Pete Favero, Bill Knight, Curt Butin, Kenzo Yonemitsu, David Tonus, Mike Pusley, David Doris, and linebacker Steve jaurique.
