Strong points this year for the Varsity and Lightweight speedsters centered around the many fine performances of returning lettermen in the long jump, 2 mile run, l mile run, 880 and 440 yard run, pole vaulting, discus, shot put, and the hurdles events. ln their first meet of the year, which was Monterey, Alisal took the lead with many first place efforts by returning lettermen, Jeff Lear, Kenso Nemitsu, Bill Dew, Greg Smith, Dave Layus and Glen Ryburn. Others who fired up the team were Gary Victorine, Frank Cable, Paul Domingo, Alex Pardo, and Dan Tate. All and all Monterey could do nothing more than bow to the might of our Allan and Favero coached teams. Coach Allan, who is new at Alisal this year, molded a strong team that could do nothing but win many of their meets. . Y I I Coach Allan Coach Favero For the lightweight team there were many fine performances IH the same events. Sparking the Lightweight team to many wins were Mike Cushman, Robert Reyes, Doug Thompson, Ray Beasley, Chris Jensen, Henry Gonzales, and James Cerenio.
