GERMAN CLUB INCREASES SCHOOL-WIDE ACTIVITIES The purpose of the German Club was to increase interest in the study of the German language and to provide insight into the cultural achievements of the German people in music, science, literature and in their everyday living. Under the leadership of President, Ed Begun, Vicevljresident, Ifleanore Lang, Treasurer, Glen Ryburn, and Secretary, Linda Schneider, the club and their advisor, Mrs. Smith, sponsored many activities. One of these activities was the unusual Kuchenfressen,' which was a German pastry sale and cake- eating contest. VARIED EVENTS ADD TO FEA. RECOGNITIGN The Future Farmers of America was an active club this year. They started their winter activities with a co-educational basketball game which provided the student body with amusement. They also held a successful King and Queen of Hearts dance in February. U The Sectional Parliamentary Procedure contest and the King City Soil Contest, both held in April, were fulfilling events as they placed in both contests. Une of the bigger events of the year was the Monterey County Fair held in May. The club concluded the year with the Cal Aggie Field Day. The club advisor was Mr. lVIullen. Officers were: President, Manuel Raposa, Vice President, Lynn Miller, Secretary, Uema Thornton, Treasurer, Debbie Benefield, Sentinel, Charla Rubis, and Reporter, Carla Norred. FRONT RUTY: Xlr.
