ALISAL'S LIGHTWEIGHTS LED BY STRONG SCORING DUO Throughout the '70-'71 winter sports season, the Art Gilbert SCOREBOARD coached Troyers have been on and around the 500 point Alisal Salinas percentage mark. The team finished the season with a 10-8 league Alisal North Salinas win-loss record. This record placed them in sixth place in Alisal Harbor Monterey' Bay League standings. Alisal Salinas Alisal Aptos The Alisal lightweights were led by the strong scoring duo of Ed Alisal Seaside Hernandez and Fred Osborn. Backing the Hernandez-Osborn Alisal Monterey duo were Tom Pura who had a fine season on the boards, and the Alisal Soquel remaining starting quintet, Efrain :Xnzaldua and Dave Sawyer. Alisal Watsonville Anzaldua and Sawyer were in charge of the rebounding chores. Alisal Santa Cruz Also gaining outstanding recognition throughout the season were Alisal Salinas sixth-men Casey Abaya and Javier Alcocer. Alisal North Salinas Alisal Harbor After losing their first league game to North Salinas, the Troyers Alisal Aptos traveled to Harbor to capture their initial victory of the season. Alisal Watsonville The game against Harbor ended with a 75-53 win for the Alisal Seaside Troyers. Heading the attack for Alisal was Hernandez 421 pts.l Alisal Monterey and Tom Pura 117 pts.l.
