Cheer Boosts School Spirit The I98I-82 Varsity Cheer une ooosm- ed school spirit by cheering at all foot- ball and basketball games and at pep assemblies. The line led cheers and did various kinds of mounts. The new sponsor, this year, was Miss Linda Volk. Captain was Linda Al- timirano and Co-captain was Gayle Tang. To raise money the cheer line sold spirit towels, ribbons, key chains, and had several car washes. The money was used for camp and to buy uni- forms. The J.V. Cheer line did much of the same as Varsity. Captain was Ro- byn Epperson. 1 VARSITY CHEER-LEFT TO RIGHT: Leann Owens. Traci Taylor, Gayle Tang, Linda Altamirano, Sandy McGrady, Dorothy Lizarraga, Reeny Butler, Paige Dehart. Varsity Cheer line cheers at a pep assembly in the gym as basketball and wrestling teams watch on. -1- The Pom Line shows it's spirit at a pep assembly in the quad. ff POM PON-FRONT ROW: Lisa Nannestad. Traci Roberts. SECOND ROW: Julie Hughes, Kelly Niehuis. THIRD ROW: Kim Becker, Michelle Johnson. Kim Johnson. FOURTH ROW: Debbie Potter, Tammy Dodt. TOP ROW: Lani Gore. I6 POM LINE Pom Wins Awards At Summer Camp The l98I-82 Pom Line won many awards at summer camp. Among them were the spirit stick, a second place plaque for team dance, and many blue superior ribbons. They also competed in the London Bridge Parade at Lake Havasu. The line entertained crowds at pep assemblies and home football and bas- ketball games. They also cheered along with the cheerleaders to raise spirit at the games. The line was led by Captain Julie Hughes, Co-Captain Tammy Dodt, and new sponsor Linda Volk. To raise money they held car washes, sold buttons and ribbons. This money was used to pay for carnations, punch, and cookies for the football players and for pom uniforms. wr Mfr- ,gr-rw Captain Julie Hughes leads the Pom line as she entertains the crowd at a home football game. Mascots earn Basics Of Being Funny The Mascots, this year, did much in raising school spirit. They were dressed to entertain crowds at football and basketball games and at pep as- semblies. There were more members participating than in previous years. The sponsor was Mr. Wayne Anth- ony. Captain was Amy Berberich and Co-captain was Reeny Butler. I8 MASCOTS suits and for getting jackets, they held a key chain sale. The members' main learning experience from this activity was how to be funny and outgoing. JQ?
