Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1971 volume:

“History repeats itself.” We are sure you have all at one time or another heard this saying. Many men have tried to prove this by com- paring our historical men, leaders, events, and wars with the present one’s. We, the members of the Algonquin staff, have tried to do this in a different sort of way. We have taken our experiences in high school and shown how it relates to that of ancient times. We invite you to share with us and see how history does repeat itself. ALCO N AC HICH SCHOOL Zhe 1 970-7 J Algonquin Algo hoc High School Give an accurate answer. For the grapplers, strength and endurance are the keys to victory, and the leadership of Coach Wight has led them in this direction. Selling at the same low price, it has managed to bring new things into view, such as the Horoscope page, Crossword Puzzles, and other amus- ing articles. Though we must leave, it is not the end of our history; no, for many of us it is just the beginning, the beginning of a chapter completely new and differ- ent in our life. We leave happily for we have accomplished something, but we leave also in a trace of sadness. We are leaving our friends and our se- curity , for who knows what lies ahead. In closing the 1970-71 Algon- quin, as well as my days at AHS, I wish the best of luck to my fellow classmates and my deepest thanks to all who have made one chapter of my life so enjoyable.
