Ellen Lewis Ellen is a most sympathetic listener and a responsible person. She loves to drive and endures much teasing about finding inter- sections. She is an active partici- pant in girl's sports and a willing worker in anything she under- takes. Sandra Knudsen Sandy has been a capable Candy Striper and is always ready for any emergency. After survi- ving the rigorous initiation of the Future Homakers of America, she enjoys devising similar fates for the following group of initiates. One of her pet peeves is people who mispronounce her name. Mary Lindeman Mary's secret (?) desire is to become an English teacher. One of her outstanding attributes is her tremendous personality, so she could easily keep her students interested. She can be influenced by the name Dustin Hoffman. 22

Lucille Kellogg A famous track star, Lucille is most often found to be laughing. She is usually in the center of things and was a great asset as assistant director of the Senior Play. She co-lead our class through the stupendous magazine sale and still has time to be Alcen business editor. Jerry Kernan Jerry loves the great outdoors, and enjoys a good time whenever and wherever he can find it. He built some fantastic scenery for the Senior Play and diligently repaired it when it collapsed. Jerry shows a profound interest in humans (female type, that is.) Holly Horton In the morning. Holly soothes our ears with her voice drifting over the P.A. system. Our super cheerleader, she is one of the most vivacious girls in our class. She displays great leadership, in her role as our Student Council President. 21

Gene McGraw Gene is always seen cruising around Alfred on his classic cycle. Serious but fun-loving, he picks his own friends and is always ready to help them out. His idol is Tiny from Oakland; he can really ride. Bob Love Bob really does have a serious side, but it is usually hidden under his well-known sarcasm and witty remarks. His fantastic abili- ty to tease girls has made him a popular member of the class. De- pending on the season. Bob can be found on the tennis courts or in the pool. Carolyn McCormick Carolyn's interests focus on Rushford Lake in the summer — she says she prefers lifeguards. She was often seen assembling costumes for the Senior Play. She is forever chauffering brothers, sisters, and turtles (?) around whenever she can get the car. Her greatest ambition is to drive a tractor-trailer. 23
