EVENTS ALONG THE TRAIL
Our Hugh School Traul was fulled wuth hope, antucupatuon, and unforgetable memorues
Now at the end of the traul, we look back to our Freshman year
To us, thus was the furst of a long serues of adventures A new outlook on lufe had
developed Thus was the begunnung
We began our Freshman year by electing our class offucers who were Presudent, Glenn
Sheley, Vuce Presudent, Ted Montgomery, Secretary, Vada Snapp, and Treasurer, Bob Toms
Our Co Op Representatuves were Sue Preston and Jerry Croy The Sponsors were Muss
Boldman, Mr Buck and Mr Frazuer
Homecomung tume was drawung near, and we chose Vada Snapp as our Freshman Can
dudate for Queen
At Christmas tume, we held a Class Party at the Kud Kanteen The gurls brought box
lunches and we had a guft exchange
Back to school as Sophomores, we knew our way around a luttle better
Our offucers thus year were Presudent, Dave Telfer, Vuce Presudent, Phul Warren Sec
retary, Sue Preston and Treasurer, June Hocker
Co Op Representatives were Sue Alex, Fred Haas, Jerry Croy, and Ted Montgomery
We chose Sue Preston as our candidate for Homecomung Queen wuth Rod Chesser as her
escort
We were really proud of our class sweaters, though they were a luttle large The
sweaters were munt green wuth whute letters
Durung January, we held our furst class party of the year at the Kud Kanteen
Toward the end of the school year we had another party Thus one was held at Beulah
Park Thus was a weuner roast followed by a scavenger hunt and dancung at the Kanteen
At the close of our Sophomore year, we found our treasury consuderably boosted We
had worked hard sellung Chrustmas cards, statuonary, and wrappung paper
We re elected Dave Telfer, Presudent, for our Junuor year, because of hus very
capable leadershup Those helpung Dave thus year were Vuce Presudent, Vada Snapp
Secretary, Nora Farmer, and Treasurer, Kay Cox
Thus year, we were led by Vada Snapp un many successful prouects We sold Chrustmas
trees, dusters, and typung paper
Judy Hull made a lovely appearance as Homecomung Queen Candudate wuth Glenn
Sheley as her handsome escort
On December Ii we had a class party at the Kanteen
December T7 was our bug day We receuved our class rungs
Kay Cox s farm home was the scene of our last Junuor Party It was a pucnuc wuth every
one helpung wuth arrangements
Then, lufe seemed to druft from realuty to a dream Our senuor year wuth all uts glory
was here
For our last year, Rodney Chesser was Presudent Ted Montgomery, Vuce Presudent Pat
Foster, Secretary, and June Hocker, Treasurer
Thus year we made money wuth the concessuons at ball games
The annual Homecomung was hughlughted when our Patsy Mack was crowned Queen at
the Autumn Leaves dance. Our popular Steve Slone was her escort.
AS Christmas drew near plans were made for the Christmas Dance.
Cn May 1, branched off on a big trail east to Washington, D.C. for 3 days of sight-
seeing, fun and a serious study of the history and government of our country. We had read
about our beautuful capital cuty and all its important persons-now they stepped into reality
On May 22, Commencement was held-the end of the trail .
