Student ouuctt
The Student Council is our student government,
whereby the student’s opinion is voiced through a
representative to the Student Council. Members are
elected from each home-room. The vice presidents of
each class, and two or three carry-over members from
the previous year are also members.
Some of the activities sponsored by the Student
Council are Homecoming, the Spring Review, and con-
trol of hall traffic.
Four delegates were sent to the Minnesota Asso-
ciation of Student Councils at Hibbing.
The officers are: Dan Ness, president; Bud Dick-
man, vice president; Beah Ettesvold, secretary-treas-
urer.

BOY AND GIRL STATE
The selection of the boy and girl stater is always done in the Junior year. The boy and girl
are selected primarily to attend the Boy and Girl State conventions held at the State Capitol in
St. Paul.
Selection of the Staters is based on Character, scholarship, and leadership.
Margaret Duea, Dave Hewett, and Jerry Annis were selected to represent our class for 1956.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY
Five members of this society are chosen in the spring of their Junior year. Additional members
are inducted in the fall and spring of the Senior year.
Membership in the National Honor Society is granted only to those individuals who have dis-
played outstanding characteristics in school ana community life, such as; leadership, scholar-
ship, character, and service. The advisor of the organization is the Guidance Counselor, Mr. Ted
Ording.
