The seniors elected the following as their class officers: Presi- dent, Harold (Red) Payne; Secretary-treasurer, Janice Lovgren; Vice-president, Joe Syvrud. SENIOR CLASS Dear Seniors, That wonderful day, graduation, has come at last and never again as an Alex High student will you roam those halls, cheer at a game, or leave that homework to a never, never tomorrow. Looking back I see you as freshmen, leaders in the junior high, working hard on your spring party. How proud you were of the Variety, the junior high newspaper you started. And oh so soon you were sophomores. The boys were gallantly evading (at least they were supposed to be) the girls for the Sadie Hawkins Dance. Next came Christmas and you were planning your first big senior high dance. New dresses, snowflakes, and mistletoe for the Winter Wonderland of the Christmas Dance. There should have been a contest to see how many of you could spell S-O-P-H-O-M-O-R-E right at those senior high auditorium periods. The work of the 1951-52 junior class can be summed up by the following activities; Sadie Hawkins, complete with newspaper streamers, dogpatch characters, and defeated men ; Old Doc the junior class play; and the prom. The Old South was transplanted for the Junior-Senior Prom and Spring Party, one of the most memorable events of your high school days. You’ll never forget that corsage, new suit or formal. As the class of '52 marched up I'm sure I saw a tear or two, no one quite knew what next year would be like. Senior activities began early with graduation pictures taken August. You were kept so busy publish- ing the Alex Hi Times, meeting Alexian deadlines, planning the Youth Conference, welcoming the alumni back at Homecoming, and doing school work that the fall just slipped by. You were full fledge seniors complete with rings, pictures, and calling cards. Winter flew by with band and choir concerts, class plays, and fun. Yes, this year you were guests of the juniors at the prom, another one you'll never forget. Too soon came the senior banquet, honor night, baccalaureate, and the last day that did not seem so wonder- ful after all. Commencement. You've done a lot and you’ve done it well, but best of all you've had fun doing it. Sincerely yours, 14 I 1 C An interested observer
