Promoting continuous spirit throughout the season was the purpose of the Football Cheerleaders. The dedication of the Cheer- leaders have resulted in great support at ath- letic events and even greater promotion of school spirit, which is so necessary for a good school. The cheerleaders, led by Mrs. Zahn, cheered in pep rallies, and in games in all kinds of weather. They held a dance and organized a spirit week. The Varsity Cheer- leaders were determined and eager and showed their support with smiles and great cheers. 1. Varsity Cheerleaders lead a cheer. 2. Cheerleaders to give the athletes the best possible support. Besides their regularly scheduled games, the J.V. Cheerleaders participated in pep rallies, pompom and button sales and hall locker decorations. Led by Mrs. Zahn the J.V. Cheerleaders kept up the spirit for the J.V. football team for an impressive season.

VARSITY VOLLEYBALL 1 f f :---sw .-zzsghs, -i A gf .. . 2 .. 'rlfigi D' ,noni VIVO ' I .5 W. Kha- The Panthers 1980 Varsity Volleyball team ended the second year with a record of 4 wins and 6 losses. To top it off, the team came ln 7th place out of 14 teams in the Class B Flnal Competition at Baden-Baden. Confidence, Splrit, and Teamwork on the courts was a high polnt with the team this year. Thanks for that goes to Coach Carol Heffernan and Train- ers George Torres and Larry Hlnkle. Overall, it was a good year for the varsity team and certainly quite an improvement over last year's record. The team was continuously Improv- ing throughout the season and plans to be even better next year. Team members for Varsity were: tleft to rlghtl Manager - i Q Nancy Hunt, Fleney Burns, Lisa Gardner, Mlchele Plcardl ' Coach - Carol Heffernan, Claudia Sweatt, Denise Berman - capt., Manager - Lisa Brooks, Manager - Lelghann Harper, Shannon McCralth, Marla Mundls, Valerie Mulllns, Kay Welte and Manager - Bridgette Brown.
