Warren Dayton, who we feel is most deserving of this honor. As soon as a pupil enters Alexander Central School, he becomes a per- sonal concern of Mr. Dayton, who, through his participation in many school activities, has become familiar with all the students at Alex- ander. Occasionally, Mr. Dayton has the opportunity to substitute in various classes and here he also displays his vast knowledge and capa- bility. During his four years of high school, each student is given the benefit of Mr. Dayton's guidance and advice, no problem being too trivial for his personal attention and consideration, His main objectives are to help each student realize his full potential, and then inspire him to work to his full capacity. For the encouragement, inspiration, un- derstanding, and faith which Mr. Dayton has given the Class of 1961, we are grateful and sincerely thank him. ,-, f..,... Alexander Central School has been privileged to have had Mary P. Henning on its faculty for the past six years, during which time we had all come to love and re- spect her. Mrs. Henning had the gift of inspiring the young people in her charge as well as her fellow workers with the ideals which had motivated her life. Her charm of manner, graciousness, and rare gift of friendship that endeared her to all, make her loss a per- sonal one. WILLIAM ZEHLER URIAM MRS. MARY P. HENNING On July 11, 1960, Billy Zehler's life abruptly ended. He was the victim of a tragic drowning ac- cident. Billy had just completed his studies in the First Grade at Alexander Central School. The ones who had close contact with him will remember Billy as a very happy and energetic boy with blond hair and sparkling eyes that conveyed an enthusiasm for school, his home, and his parents. He had traveled the road of life only a very short time but he will never be forgotten by those who were privileged to know him.
